Community Care Ministries
We are not created to walk through life alone! Through our relationship with God and relationships with others, we experience healing. Community Care Ministries at The Vineyard Fellowship is designed to help others by walking alongside of them in the journey of life.
Whether it is a crisis situation, addiction, trauma, marriage conflict, relational struggle, spiritual question, or ongoing issue, Community Care provides a safe, supportive, and confidential environment to address needs.
All of us encounter struggles, hurts, and areas of brokenness, but it is God’s desire to restore, redeem, and renew us. Through the love of our heavenly Father and our embracing who we are in Christ, Community Care Ministries seeks to join in the work of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives so that they may experience freedom and joy.
Realizing each individual’s journey of healing is unique; Community Care Ministries offers the following opportunities for healing and growth. If you are not sure which option is right for you, see the contact information for Stephanie Frey below.
Individual Lay Counseling
Lay Counseling is offered throughout the year for individuals who wish to meet in a one-on-one setting with a counselor. Lay counselors have completed training in basic counseling skills, biblical principles, are involved in regular continuing education, and receive weekly ongoing supervision by a Licensed Clinical Supervisor. Lay counseling usually takes place over the period of ten sessions with a requested minimal donation of twenty dollars per session.
Professional Counseling
Professional counseling is available for individuals, couples, and families by Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists who are members of Community Care Ministries. Additionally, referrals are provided to area professionals who have a relationship with The Vineyard Fellowship and who specialize in various issues. A per session fee is required and decided upon by each counselor.
Support or “Care” Groups
Care groups are offered on a regular basis at The Vineyard Fellowship, addressing specific issues such as overcoming grief and loss, forgiveness, marriage, parenting, single mom & dad issues, divorce, and many more. These care groups typically last from eight to twelve weeks and are open to anyone wishing to continue to grow in these areas. The cost for these groups is minimal and is based on the learning material.
Inner Healing Care Groups
Inner Healing Care Groups last thirty weeks, consisting of three ten-week groups that run consecutively. The first ten-week group addresses foundational issues related to relationships, the second focuses on core issues of life, and the third narrows in on identifying unhealthy behavior patterns. These groups are open to new participants in September and March and do not receive new participants after they have begun. The cost for the thirty-week program is sixty dollars.
12-Step Care Group
This Care group emphasizes working on various forms of addictions, which can be a behavior pattern or substance abuse, and provides an environment to continue to grow and receive freedom. This group runs throughout the year with a one-time fee of sixty dollars for materials.
Classes/Training
Throughout the year, Community Care Ministries sponsors training for individuals who wish to develop their skills in helping others. Every September and March, a ten-week training on basic skills related to becoming an effective listener, helper, and lay counselor is offered. Additionally, training targeted at developing skills for effective support group facilitation and individual lay counseling are offered in ten-week increments as well.
