What kinds of V-Groups are there?
No V-Group needs to fit into any particular classification. Each V-Group has its own particular DNA and purpose that give it a unique identity. Thus, though they deny classification, some of the possible types of V-Groups based on what they see as their primary purpose are:
- Community Groups
Community Groups are V-Groups of eight to twenty people who share their lives through the week and gather in homes once a week for worship, sharing, study, prayer, and fun. The primary purpose of Community Groups is to provide an opportunity for depth relationships around worship, the Word of God, and prayer.
- Care Groups
Care Groups are V-Groups developed by our Community Care Ministry whose primary purpose is to provide support and healing for those who are experiencing the various struggles of life. Examples of these groups include: Life Care Groups, Divorce Care Groups, 12-Step Care Groups, Grief Groups, etc.
- Evangelism Groups
Evangelism Groups are V-Groups whose primary purpose is to bring un-churched and lost people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to the church.
- Discipleship Groups
Discipleship Groups are V-Groups whose primary reason for existence is to develop relationships with new converts and to nurture them into an established relationship with Christ and the church.
- Bible Study Groups
Bible Study Groups are V-Groups much like Community Groups except for the fact that they center their community life around worship and ongoing, systematic study of the Bible?
- Mission Groups
Mission Groups are V-Groups whose primary purpose in coming together is to accomplish a particular type of mission such as missions of mercy, church planting, cross cultural missions etc.
- Common Interest Groups
Common Interest Groups are V-Groups that are developed as a result of common interest in sports, hobbies, advocacies, issues, games, fun, etc. These are designed to embrace the wholeness of the life we share in Jesus Christ.
Do we have gender based or age group specific V-Groups?
Yes, some of our groups are designed specifically for women and some specifically for men. We have groups for senior citizens, young adults, youth, and children. Check the bulletin board to find who to contact if you are interested in joining any of these groups.
How often and how long does a V-Group meet?
Each V-Group is different. Most Community and Bible Study groups meet once a week for eleven months. Some of the other groups meet for much shorter periods of time and some only once a month.
Do we have Advocacy V-Groups?
Yes, we encourage advocacy groups that address issues of injustice and other issues of concern to the follower of Jesus Christ. Advocacy V-Groups cannot be aligned with political parties or take a partisan position.

Yes, there are. V-Groups are intended to be small. The focus on V-Groups is on relationships. We could have many larger groups called V-Learning Groups.
